Treatment:

We are experts in identifying and treating skin cancers.

Our Auckland skin cancer centre offers a range of treatment options to ensure you receive the most appropriate care. Each treatment is as low-impact as possible with minimum disruption to your life.

All treatments are carried out at the clinic, therefore no hospitalisation or referral to other consultants is usually necessary.  Depending on your diagnosis, treatment could include anything from a topical cream to cryotherapy (freezing) or surgery.

Your skin check will be done by either Chris or Andrew and will start with a discussion about your current or past medical problems, any medications you may be on or allergic to and so on. We are most interested in your personal or family history of melanoma and your history of sun exposure. You will then have a full-body skin check where we’ll look at your skin from between your toes to the very top of your head.  We look for suspicious “moles” or other lesions that could be one of a number of types of non-melanoma skin cancers.  If we find something that concerns us we may recommend photographic/dermatoscopic monitoring or treatment with creams, cryotherapy or surgery. If we don’t find anything then you’re good-to-go and can bask in the glow of a positive medical check-up.  The initial skin check will take 15-30 minutes.
